Welcome! I am Dr. Bill Barnes, and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself. I was born in Macon, Georgia and following an undergraduate B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institue & State University, I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in June 1979. Subsequently, I went on to serve an Orthopaedic Surgery Internship and Residency at Greenville Hospital System in 1980 and 1984 respectively.

As an orthopaedic surgeon, my work is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. The frequency and impact of these diseases and injuries, combined with recent advances in their diagnoses and treatment, make orthopaedics a critical part of healthcare. It brings me great pleasure to apply state-of-the-art, proven procedures to alleviate pain and suffering and restore a patient to a more productive life.

My practice is focused on knee arthroscopy, shoulder surgery, hip and knee reconstruction, elbow, wrist and hand surgery, spine surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. It is my mission to provide you excellent service, as well as excellent care. I always strive to provide you the same high-quality orthopaedic care that I would offer to a member of my family.

In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy working on my ranch with my horses and cows. I am an accomplished horseman and compete in ranch roping competitions.

Welcome to Piedmont Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Complex. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself. I was born in Anderson, SC and following my undergraduate degree from The Citadel, I graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. I served my internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. I did my fellowship at Orthopaedic Hospital in Los Angeles, California. I served 6 months in Iraq, and 6 years at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, finishing as Chief of the Orthopaedic Surgery Service.

As an orthopaedic surgeon, my work is dedicated to the prevention, diagnoses and treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. I am particularly interested in less invasive procedures which include newer arthroscopic techniques in the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee and care of the injured athlete. It is my goal to alleviate pain and suffering while restoring function and productivity.

It is the mission of Piedmont Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Complex to provide you with excellent state-of-the-art care in a personal and high-quality manner, I will always strive to provide you with the same care that I would provide to a member of my family.

In addition to my medical commitments, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three sons. I also enjoy technology, reading, camping and fishing.

Subsequently, I went on to serve a Family Practice residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, and a mini-residency in Occupational & Industrial Medicine at the University Cincinnati.

As a practitioner of occupational medicine, my area of work encompasses treatment of injuries and illnesses in the workplace, including a large number of musculoskeletal and back injuries. I work with you to provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan to return you to a healthy, active lifestyle and to protect and promote your health and working ability.

I served my residency at the Cleveland VA/OCPM in Cleveland, Ohio.

As a practitioner of podiatric medicine, my area of work encompasses musculoskeletal diseases and wound management below the knee. It is my desire to return you to an active and healthy lifestyle.

Piedmont Orthopaedic Complex is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin E. Moore, D.P.M. to its medical practice. Dr. Moore is a podiatrist and specializes in all aspects of conservative and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Moore received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Indiana University and subsequently attended Barry University of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.). He completed his surgical residency at the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Moore is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Moore joins the Piedmont Orthopaedic practice with Bill Barnes, M.D., Jeffrey Burnette, M.D., Layne Myers, M.D., Kevin Stevenson, M.D. and Pamela Onderko, D.P.M.
